Purpose and Enlightenment

In the broadest context, the goal is to seek enlightenment - however you define it.

The Christian tradition encourages you to find your purpose in life and then live it. The Buddhist tradition encourages you to seek the truth and pursue enlightenment.

When you can actually see the truth, you are enlightened. Then, you are in a better position to grasp your role in life, in other words, your purpose.

You can arrive at what you think is the truth, but you need confirmation. You need to be able to judge whether you have arrived. You’re going to need an internal compass.

Personal development is the continuous process of evolving this internal compass.
