If we don’t know where we are taking the country, how are we going to figure out what and how we should teach our kids.

When the economy was opened in 1978, a push towards global education and English was visible and working. Now, we are teaching an indigenous curriculum (දේශීය චින්තනය). This was triggered by the mindsets cultivated during the ethnic war. The winner’s culture will be forcefully fed to the populace.

We have cultivated and glorified the uneducated and are reaping an ugly crop. It is going to get worse in the next decades. Just take a peek at the middle school text books.
